Other Notable Submissions 2026

We are grateful to the many organizations that made the effort to respond to the IPC’s latest Transparency Challenge. Although not all projects and initiatives submitted could be featured as exhibitors in the Transparency Showcase, notable mentions go to the following:

CITY OF Kitchener

From Search to Solution: Reimagining Public Access on Kitchener.ca with AI

The City of Kitchener redesigned Kitchener.ca and introduced municiPAL, an AI-powered search tool that lets residents ask questions in their own words and receive direct responses. Residents can use the tool to help resolve their queries, reducing the need to navigate multiple municipal webpages.

City of Stratford

Responsible AI Governance and GovAI Implementation at the City of Stratford

The City of Stratford updated its Acceptable Use Policy to govern AI use and introduced GovAI as an approved platform. It developed a Policy Assistant and a Plans and Studies Assistant. Using authorized city documents, these tools help staff search, summarize and reference policies, plans, studies, procedures and municipal information.

Town of Ajax

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

The Town of Ajax’s Artificial Intelligence Policy establishes rules for approving and procuring AI tools, including privacy, security and privacy impact assessment requirements. It also helps residents understand when and how AI contributes to municipal work and enables the town to provide evidence-based records when questions arise.
